18/2/2021, Buy another seconhand 1/8 nitro monster truck for rm150 + extra parts. HSP 1/8 Tornado Monster truck 94083 2004. First introduce in 2004 then improve in 3 stage. I thing my is the last batch. My first 1/8 RC.This truck use condition but not much damage in parts, also not dirty with oil stain, left in stor for loose parts, with both shock tower bending maybe overturn heavily maybe damage the engine. Bottom chassis no heavy scratch. After slowly investigate this monster have a big accident the rear both shock top cap with heavy scratch, body post rear also scratch, rear lhs damper oil leak and loose found out broken bottom o ring cap.

There is no assembly manual, another challenge for me, just use photo as guide line. Start 23/2/2021 Finish 25/2/2021

The fault i found

1. With fuel tank cap missing because tank cap mounting damage.

2. No servo for engine acc.

3. Front and rear shock tower bend

4. No body shell

5. No electrical parts

6. No 21 engine.

7. Servo horn missing for acc

8. Exhaust dented at bottom

9. Rear lhs tyre rubber torn

10. Front lhs/Rear rhs rim crack

11. 3 pcs tyre not properly glue on rim. All sand enter the tyre.

12. All drive shaft rusty

13. Rear lhs damper oil leak, damper bottom o ring cap broken.

14. Rear rhs 2 stone stuck on suspension pin, rub on drive cup.

15. Steering servo head loose

16. Steering arm very Steve, very heavy turn to lhs/rhs found out both lhs/rhs steering hub too tight on ball end, that damage the servo drive head.

17. Rear dogbone both end no o ring to prevent knocking sound.

18. Lhs/rhs steering hub inside deep scratch.

19. Lhs /rhs the bottom ball end screw too long, will touch UJ.

20. Steering arm no ball bearing using copper bushing.

21. Front and rear axle drive gear no greese, still continue drive will wornoff the gear.

22. Front bottom steering arm lhs/rhs chip off body.

23. Front no sway bar only rear.

24. Steering hub ball bearing very hard to remove. After hammer.and knocking can be remove.

25. All suspension hub ball bearing full of dirt and sand. After remove i turn there sand inside.

26. Front and rear center propeller shaft end no o ring to prevent kocking sound.

27. Front and rear axle housing bottom screw too long damage it.

28. The steering housing two rod can't be remove screw too tight at bottom.

30. Rear damper lhs/rhs top mounting body heavy scratch.

31. No engine mounting

I use this jeep Cherokee body from my first HSP Brontosaurus. This body is bigger match this 1/8 chassis

Next is picture for parts in this monster truck and some loose parts that for this truck.

A 2.4ghz remote EX3s, i put in battery test still can on. According to the shop owner this remote faulty. After check can bind but not function in drive and steering.

Two parts from the damage truggy i open, single speed gear and linkage for brake.

The Single drive gear still ok no damage found, soon will open to clean and checking.

The Engine location, need to use engine mounting. The area very clean. Mean this monster use not for long, after accident sent in shop for repair then forgate.

Bend rhs rear shock tower. Not buying new but will flatten it back.

Leak because bottom oil ring cap broken.

Cap top cover broken due to rear section have a big accident.

Remove don't now what brand, metal body

The steering servo gear head loose,

After remove servo top cover, with dark and dry greese. Gear all ok

The coper bushing seat with sand mix with greese

The gear head using copper bushing worn off.

Even bottom no ball bearing, i have no size so didn't change.

Only top bushing i change ball bearing

Clean up and regreese. No more gear head loose

All regreese, this servo for acceleration.

Rear both body post heavy scratch

Rear dogbone both end no o ring,

Remove the damage tank rhs, same only different lhs tank with fuel hose holder.

Under the fuel tank full of sand and dirt

This steering is heavy, i thing all the moving arm or bearing dirty with sand or dirt. That why damage the steering servo.

Time to remove parts to check more damage parts or fault.

Center propeller shaft front longer then rear each end have no o ring

Lhs buy loose, rhs from this monster. Condition lhs more scratch on parts.

Steering arm not using ball bearing

Found out the problem why steering is heavy and damage the servo head . The lhs and rhs steering hub ball end really dry, hard to turn full lock.

Rear suspension remove all the shock and body post.

This thick metal shock stay can bend like this mean this monster have a very big tumbling around. The tower i just hammer back no need to change new

Not much greese on axle main gear.

Don't trust the manufacturers need to check ourself. Expensive brand still can be trusted.

For the planet gear, there a stickey greese add, when turn it heavy, not sure what type of greese. Not going to clean it just add some normal greese.

This belongs this truck dented.

All parts remove rear suspension and center parts.

Removing front parts

The steering hub very tight, no damage on ball end set, maybe too dry.

Both side the ball end screw too long, come out will touch the UJ

The steering hub inside wall deep scratch. Check the uj no wornoff.

The steering hub ball bearing hard to remove even i knock it.

After hard knocking and wd40, last remove. The ball bearing when i turn very rought sand entering.

This steering arm mounting can't remove the bottom screw really tight, can't touch the screw top bracket is plastick.

I change shorten screw,

Done all moving parts apply little bit greese

UJ in, not enought ball bearing for steering, next time. The steering smooth turning.

Adjust the top arm, after adjust, the steering more better, no more stuck smooth.

The front lower arm body chip due to the steering hub touching when full lock. To prevent, adjustment on steering full lock degrees on remote.

This loose tank really dirty with blue stain all dry even the outlet filter stuck. I use new nitro fuel to clean it and rince with water. Need to add a fuel filter outside. Nitro fuel when dry it should just oil, not in dry pcs of fuel, this tank use blue colour nitro fuel don't now what brand.

Tune pipe, need to buy a 21 engine. SH21 Rm270 pullstart.

Tyre and rim super glue.

Use back the old air filter. Change the sponge inside.

Done repair and total cleaning. Same as 1/10 monster, parts only big in size but lacation function all the same. Next is to buy a 21 engine and drive this monster

Brontosaurus and Tornado

I change the steering servo to MG 969R 11kg. Use a aluminium 25T servo horn.

1/3/2021 got the engine mounting 81047. Buy for Rm38. Now just want to buy a 21 engine.

On 6/3/2021, i remove the 2.4 remote and checking, the antenna chip all terminal i sholder, just make the lad melt. Wire i check for continuati. Done, tested up it function

Remove all parts, then few terminal i sholder to melt the lad

Antenna wire i sholder back.

Another remote can be use

18/3/21, the new flysky 2.4 receiver reach Rm23.50 fix in. Buy a 6v 1600mah receiver battery for Rm50. Add a receiver low voltage checker free. Modified a handle bar, it to carry this truck Rm6.
