This is aIl I have, my reels photo. My collection from 1981 to 2021. Total reels I collected now is 34 pcs. In Malaysia the fishing reels is not cheap. Like Penn, Abugarcia, shimano is expensive. The cheap reels most come from China with many many in branded name. Most of this fishing tackle only sale at special tackle shop. Not like in europe even in The Mart sale many choices and cheap tackle. Even in yard sale or flea market is cheep US10 reel and rod. Even branded reel like shimano US20 both.

In Malaysia a second hand shimano can reach rm50 and vintage 1950 to 1970 they sale it rm100++. That the different, so i just spend what in my budget pocket.

Only 21 reels that i always use. The rest still in good condition but too old to use it, if damage no parts.

1) Light reels =1ibs to 10ibs - 19 Units

2) Medium Light reels =11ibs to 20ibs - 9 units

3) Medium Heavy reels = 21ibs to 30ibs - 3 units

4) Heavy reels = 31ibs above - 3 units.

Some reels I buy and some give to me free and buy second hand. All my reels can be use. Some parts missing but manage to modified can be use as light reels. Most problem reels is the vintage reel with broken bail arm.

The reels that I buy new from 1981 till today still can be use due to maintance it from beginning. After fishing, first thing to do is cleaning the reel from salt water expecily the line roller, when wind back the line some salt water will left on it. If the reels always use I will total service. Using reels grease and oil, not vehicle greese.

For my old reels that I keep not using, some times I will take out and keep spinning it to ensure the grease not become harden. That is how i take care of my reels. Some I put in a cloth gudi bag. Prevent from scratch.

My number one reels if I buy is DAM, SHIMANO, RYOBI. In my collection i have other brand just want test it or buy in emergency want to fish but did,t bring So buy cheap one.
In Malaysia I thing most popular Daiwa, Penn, Shimano, Abugarcia and China brand due to cheap.

Some of the reels i put in a pouch bag. Special made for my reels some time if can buy in shop. So far my Shimano biomaster have this small bag.
